A lot of organizations have multiple domain names, but want to have a single Google Apps account to manage everything. For example, someone’s main website may be www.californiabusinessconsultants.com. However, after deciding that the domain is too long, the company decided to simply use www.cbc.org as their primary domain. The problem is that the company signed up for Google Apps using their www.californiabusinessconsultants.com address and they don’t want to set up a new Google Apps account with the www.cbc.org address.
Google Apps has the feature of supporting multiple domain names within a single Google Apps account. Therefore, emails using both domain aliases will be routed to the same person. So if somebody sends an email to user@cbc.org, it will automatically sent to user@californiabusinessconsultants.com. Additionally, you are also given the ability to send email from either domain alias.
The problem is that most Google Apps administrators find this difficult to setup. If you are looking for Google Apps Multiple Domain Support, please call 1-888-652-3135 and I would be happy to assist you.
