I wanted to share a neat website trick with you that I recently came across. The problem I encountered was this: I would add new styles to my website’s stylesheet, but when I would go back to the page, I wasn’t able to see the changes that I made until I clicked refresh.

This doesn’t sound like a big deal until you realize that hundreds or thousands of people who have already visited your website will likely return to your website and will think that your website is (1) really ugly; or (2) that you don’t know what you’re doing.

Remember the Google Super Bowl ad?  Who would have thought a Google commercial highlighting the different sections their search engine could give you goose bumps. Now you can create your very own search story.

Just visit the Google Search Story Video Creator on YouTube, type in some search terms, select which section of Google the term should interact with, pick out some music, and you’re done.

If your company has a website, you better make sure that’s its fast. When customers are searching for your business, speed matters, and if your website does not load in under 4 seconds, your customer may be gone.  Additionally, Google gives faster-loading websites better rankings over websites that take longer to load.

Thanks to Pingdom, they’ve provided an excellent tool so you can check your website’s speed.  You should not check your website’s speed with your own stopwatch due to inaccuracies.  Since you have already visited your website, your webpages files, images, and stylesheets are already stored on your hard drive so the webpage loads faster for you.
