Still not convinced in the trend towards mobile internet or what has been dubbed by Jim Cramer as the “mobile internet Tsunami”? According to the Google Mobile blog, 100 million users per month are using Google Maps for Mobile.

I frequently use the Google Mobile app for Blackberry. It’s great for getting info on restaurants when you’re on the go. You can get directions, the telephone number, restaurant reviews, and more.

As I’ve stated in the past, if you’re a website owner, you better make sure your website is optimized for mobile.

I’m just waiting for the day when mobile speeds are equivalent to modern-day cable mobile speeds. Can we please get there soon?…

Google just launched a plug-in that allows you to use the same functionality of Google Earth in Google Maps.  After visiting Google Earthview and installing the plugin, you will be able to view 3D imagery in Google Maps that used to be available only by using Google Earth.

The new feature is incredible.  I love how it changes from one city to another as if you are traveling in an airplane. Search New York City in Google Maps with Earthview and then go to Las Vegas to see for yourself. This is an incredible tool when researching hotels. We all know that the Blackberry is a business device and the iPhone is a toy, but if you’re a Blackberry user that harbors a little iPhone jealousy, your iPhone envy has waned a little bit thanks to Google Maps 4.0 for the Blackberry.

Google officially rolled out version 4.0 for the Blackberry today and it is a big upgrade. The best feature included in the upgrade is its voice search feature.

Google will discover your location once you log into the program.  To search by voice, simply hold down the green call icon and say what you’re searching for.

Google is constantly developing tools to refine search results to make search faster and more convenient.  In our last Google Maps article, we provided a tutorial on how to create a Google Map from a Google Spreadsheet.  I wanted to provide another update on a few new features that have been added to Google Maps.

Here is a neat feature that you can use with Google Spreadsheets. Let’s say you want to publish a map on your website with a list of locations such as your favorite restaurants. This can be easily accomplished using Google Spreadsheets and Google Maps. I’ll go over how to create a map with custom locations that you can publish on your website with this tutorial.

In this example, I’ve created a map of my favorite cheesesteak joints in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.
