Most people will not end up purchasing a product from somebody until there’s been several interactions between the seller and the customer. Building trust is a key element to the sale and writing thoughtful and useful e-mails is a great way to build that trust. Make sure that every e-mail isn’t just a sales pitch though. Make sure that you’re providing the reader with value so there’s an incentive to cotinue subscribing to your e-mail list. Provide tips and resources to your audience that help solve their needs and I’m sure that you will be rewarded in the future for your efforts.

When I first began researching e-mail marketing, I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information that existed on the topic. All I really wanted to know is what service I should use to handle my e-mail list. For some reason, something that sounds so simple became rather difficult because there is so much conflicting information on how to conduct e-mail marketing and which service provider to use.

After researching the issue in more detail, I wanted to provide a quick overview of some of your different options and the product that I ended up selecting.

I heard about Get Response, iContact, Constant Contact, and Mail Chimp. I was rather upset with the pricing. If I’m sending an e-mail newsletter to just 20, 50, or even 100 people, I shouldn’t have to pay a lot of money for that. However, to use an e-mail marketing service for even a small amount of subcribers, iContact will charge $9.95 a month, Constant Contact will changre $14.95 a month, and Get Response will charge $18.00 a month. Not only do those services charge a substantial monthly fee for those planning to e-mail just a few contacts, but if you happen to receive thousands of subscribers, those charges will quickly increase.

That’s why I chose Mail Chimp, which has all the bells and whistles of the other service providers such as customized templates, statistics tracking, surveys, importing lists, and more, but it provides this service completely free of charge for up to 500 subscribers. When it comes to e-mail marketing, you cannot find a better deal than that. So if you’re looking to get started with e-mail marketing, I would suggest looking into Mail Chimp.
