April 28, 2010 — Oregon is the first state school system to adopt Google Apps for their entire educations system.
How long do you think it will be before we see a majority of states use Google Apps? I believe that this could be the start of a trend that takes the nation’s education system by storm. I would be willing to bet that a majority of state’s education departments begin using Google Apps by 2012.
We’ve already seen numerous amounts of Universities using Google Apps: University of Virginia, Northwestern University, Notre Dame, University of South California, Arizona State University, Clemson, and Vanderbilt, just to name a few. Here is a list of of schools and universities who already use the Google Apps Education Edition.
Now, for the first time ever, an entire state’s education department has adopted Google Apps for their education system. The Oregon Department of Education will save $1.5 million per year by switching to Google Apps.
